Ewe Run We Run Guided running, walking and mountain bike tours in North Yorkshire
Moorland Trails
We are lucky enough to be able to step out of our front door to be right on the moors with paths in every direction. We would like to share this with you, a choice of 5k, 10k and Half Marathon distances are available as guided runs.
All you need to bring is your enthusiasm, a pair of good trainers and a bottle for water.
Please keep checking back as routes will be added over the next few month, custom routes can be arranged, please contact us for details.
5k Routes
We have a selection of 5k (ish) routes that we use on a regular basis, some of which are briefly described below, all are close to the village so although the moors can be experienced one is never far from civilization. These are good for those new to trail running and would like a taster of what it is like to run on the moors. these routes can usually take from 28 minutes to 45 minutes but can take longer dependent on the weather and the fitness level of the individuals running. We like to stress these are not fast runs please do not expect to get a personal best or treat it as a race, all our runs are treated as a social event to share the beauty of the moors and encourage more people to run on the trails.Routes can be changed dependent on your experience, preference and the weather conditions.
1, Goathland station taking in Darnholm, Beck Hole (with the option of a drink and stottie at the famous Birch Hall Inn), the rail trail and the beautiful water ark.
2, Hunt House to New Wath, Egton high moor dropping down through woodland and back to Hunt House
10k Routes
Possibly my favorite route in the area, starting in the heart of the village we head up on to the moors past the Church
with steady climb above the village we will circle around to Hunt House and then a climb up to Simons Howe from where the views are fabulous all year around. then we have a steady 2 and half mile down hill section back to the village. This route can be easily lengthened if the 500 plus feet of elevation has not worn you out.
